to clarify, i wont be receiving my phones most likely until after the promo ends due to them apparently being on back order.
You'll need more than that to get the promotion. Along with the IMEI or HEX MEID you'll also need to get the MAC wi-fi address of the phone which you can only obtain by turning on the phone and getting it from the phone info settings. The MAC address won't be listed on the box or receipt. See the 2nd field next to the IMEI/HEX box when you sign up for the promotion:

this might have been helpful if I didn't already know where to find them. i want to know how to get them when you have yet to even bother shipping the phones that I intended (note past tense) to purchase. if you havent already noticed there are Quite a few people who want the gear S2 who due to "unexpected demand" (for the most popular android phone) are being cheated out of an advertised promo.Verizon Wireless Customer Support
I hear ya. It's frustrating that we could miss out on Samsung's promotion because of Verizon's lack of foresight and not having enough in stock for launch. I have a ship by date of 3/31 for mine and by the time we receive the phone and get the IMEI and MAC info, Samsung would already have run out of their promo stock (300,000 limit?)
I apologize i didn't intend to be irate with a human I didn't realize until after the fact that you were a person and not the worthless verizon bot.
No worries - I just wanted to add that we need 2 things that we can't get until we receive the phone. I wish Verizon would give something for folks who miss out on the Samsung promotions like account credits or some sort of deal where they would give their own promo towards the S2 watch
