Unfortunately, batteries don't last forever.  Due to the age of the phone, it may be time for a replacement.

Let’s get to the bottom of this issue and get your S6 powered on ASAP.  When did this first start?  Has that phone been wet or damaged?  Have you been able to try another charger and are you using the original charger that came with the phone?
