temporarily avoiding poor connection

Whenever I try to connect to my gym's WiFi I always get the "temporarily avoiding poor connection" message. I have tried restarting my phone & pulling the sim, but nothing changes. I've searched the internet and all I can find is uncheck avoid weak signals under WiFi settings, but I don't have that option. Any help on this is greatly appreciated.

First try your phone on your home Wi-Fi system if you have one set up to see if it's working. Then try it at another wireless hot spot. Starbuck, McDonalds just to do a working test. I have seen cases where signal has been poor or just bad hot spots. I hope this will work for you.

For what it's worth, the "avoid poor connections" setting in the wi-fi advanced settings disappeared with one of the recent updates.

I've tried it at home at McDonald's and at work, and all are working properly. The only time I have an issue with WiFi is at the gym (where I need it the most spotify is killing my data).

Maybe the gym doesn't have strong wifi? Are you able to try another device there or do other people have any trouble? Mary

alt1052 We are here to save the day! We encourage the use of wifi to help save mobile data and avoid overages. Based on your posts, the wifi works in other locations so it is not an issue with the phone. I've experienced this before where my wifi wouldn't connect at a certain location due to weak wifi service. Do you get this error as soon as you connect to the gym's wifi or only when you open spotify?
