text pictures not video

new to this forum... but have had galaxy iii for several months. a few weeks ago one of my family members sent me a picture via text, and it came as video. Thought they did something wrong... now all of a sudden my pictures are sending as video vs just a picture. i used to be able to take a pic, select share and send a picture in a text message, now it sends a video. Samsung says it's always been that way. I know that is not true. has something changed in verizons network or have a accidently changed a setting somewhere , somehow?

Are the pictures sending as a video or a slideshow of picture(s)?

it sounds like a slidehow. does it open a video player, and if so, for how long does it show as a "video"???

well when I attach the picture to the text... is does say something about preparing the slide show.. but it is a singular picture when you get the text message there is a pause, play & stop button below the picture. this all started several weeks ago on one of my families phone and now mine.

ann is correct. i'm not sure why it didn't used to do this, but what it does now is how it's supposed to open. when receiving a pic in a text message, you can long press the image and save it, and it will be in your gallery with the rest of your pics, if you'd like to view it in the gallery (in the same fashion as all the pics you take on your phone)

Picture messages are important! Let's get this resolved. Are you using a third-party text message application? How are you attaching the picture to the text? Keep me posted.
