where is the serial number for Samsung Resistry?

I have a galaxy 6 cell phone and have tried to register it with Samsung but cannot find a serial number in the ones they offer on their website.  There are numbers on my receipt and a couple of numbers on the container the phone came in.  There are no number on the back of my phone.  Ideas?

The IMEI can be used sometimes.  You might also check in Settings-About Phone-Status

I've been searching regarding this for the last little while.  Watched a couple of videos online pertaining to locations of the S5 and S6 phones' serial numbers.  Didn't find the SN of my Samsung S5 in the phones' menus so I popped the back off the phone and the SN also is not listed on the sticker under the battery. ???  The phone was purchased new in-the-box by me at a Verizon brick and mortar store.

Did you look on the box that the phone came in?  Also go to System--About Phone---Build Number.  I think that is number they seek.

The box not an option for me as I sent the end with the info to Verizon at the time of purchase as part of a submission for a $50 rebate.

That's why you should always make a copy of what you send out.  Did you try other suggestion?

I don't need the number for anything.  Was wondering why some S5s display a serial number and others do not.  My first aw-shucks thought was knock-off but after some time online it seems fairly common.  Perhaps a matter of when the phones were manufactured.

Thanks to everyone, sometimes the Edge between Verizon and Samsung is a bit confusing..

I always take a picture and store it for all new devices.  I also enter the info into my secure wallet, what it is, when it was purchased, who it was purchased, model #, serial number and a log of support calls.

Very useful information down the road if you have a case or don't have the device in front of you and you need to know that info.

Besides going into settings, and finding the IMEI there, if the device has a removeable battery (I don't know, don't have one), it's probably on a sticker under the battery.
