Advanced messaging for Note 10+ not working after update on 8/31/21

I recently updated my phone and the software updated stated i can now use RCS advanced messaging with the stock samsung messaging app. I get an error code "there was an issue updating you to advanced messaging...." Can someone please explain how to fix this issue? The software update specifically stated I now have advanced messaging when in fact i still dont have it.

Yes, My note 10+ 5g was purchased thru Verizon and the software I currently have ends in FUH3.

I have done that already and still nothing. My wife has the same phone and has same issue. She actually did a factory reset and still gets the same error.

My device was purchased from Best Buy 2 years ago (still a verizon phone on a post-paid account). Software baseband version ends in FUH3. Also Build number ends in FUH3. Model # of my device is SM-N975U. Every app is up to date. I restarted my phone, reset the network settings, cleared data and cache for the samsung messages app and advanced messaging still does not work. I tried calling tech support last week and no one answered after i was on hold for over an hour. I am beyond frustrated about an update that includes new features such as advanced messaging and i am still unable to take advantage of it. not really much of an update if you ask me.

I think the only way it'll be fixed is if they push out an update or something. Because I've done everything and still can't use it. I keep getting an error saying I have something blocked from using it and I don't. I hope it gets fixed soon

Did all of that! Still having the same problem! Still getting the same message! I'm running 3.1 android 11 and I can't seem to use any of the chat messages NOTHING! Y'ALL NEED TO FIX IT! on your end, because this isn't Samsungs problem it's Verizons, and yall need to fix it ASAP

So, I am having the same issue. I contacted Verizon on the same day the update came out. The first time I spoke with the customer support rep, we spent about an hour getting access to my phone and changing different settings. He then proceeded to tell me the Note 10 was not a supported device until I gave him the update URL. Well, then he told me to contact Samsung and call me back in 30 minutes. I just happened to be on the phone with Samsung when the rep called me back, so I conferenced him in. Samsung told him it was a Verizon issue and explained why and the rep admitted it. We hung up with Samsung and went through another test, including one where I had to dial a *#*#476#+#*, or something like that, but it wasn't acting as expected. He said to call back since Tier 2 was closed at that time and he would leave notes. I called the next day and was connected with a Teir 2 rep. I told her that there should be notes on my account. She said the only note she saw was a text sending me a number to Samsung support. We went through the whole process again. After about an hour and a half, she discovered that there was some missing "file" that she was trying to push but was having issues and she didn't know why. She told me she would put a ticket in with technical support (who knows‽) and would call me back when they resolved the issue. I waited until yesterday and called back. I told the rep the situation and she was not very helpful. She said she read some of the notes and then told me it was a Samsung issue because it was a Samsung app... blah, blah, blah. Every time I tried to explain the situation to her, she would tell me that it was a Samsung app and they couldn't do anything about it and how she had a Note 10 and she didn't have it either.
Anyways, there is probably not a lot of incentive to fix it. I would be curious how many people still use the Note 10 AND would even know and/or look care about advance messaging or RCS.

Woke up this morning to a System update. Same issue. Also, I can't access chat settings because I just get the same error message. I don't understand why Verizon and Samsung have to clash all the time providing an inferior user experience.

I just wanted to add I woke up with the same update this morning. I am experiencing the same error message as all others have posted on my Note 10 (NOT a + device).

I updated my Note 10+ and receiving the same error. Verizon tier 2 contacted Samsung for me. The VZW rep said she spoke to the app developers at Samsung and they were not even aware of this issue. VZW rep said Samsung said to clear cache, and if that doesn't work, factory reset the device. Seriously??? All of it hard to believe. In the end, the VZW rep said wait a few days and try again. Really? WOW! Hopefully there will be a fix soon.

I too am experiencing this issue.

Verizon support, check your notes from 12-21-2020. This same thing happened then with the Samsung 20 series. You resolved it with a change on the back end. I'm hoping that will give you a road map for how to resolve this issue for us. Thank you.

This is the same issue that happens with every text messaging problem on a Verizon Galaxy device because they want you to use their Messages+ app. It's the same reason that I can't send text messages from my Samsung Galaxy Tab S6. Our contract just ended after 2 years and we're definitely reconsidering our options given that we spend so much and then Verizon wants to block features. What a joke

I've never had a problem texting on any Samsung device I've owned. They put out an update stating that we'll have chat features and we can't use them. I just want to be able to use something that they said we had and don't. If the smaller series can use it like the S10 and s21 etc etc but the note 10 series can't it's not right. I hope it gets fixed soon. Because other carriers are enabling it I don't know why Verizon is being mean about it and not letting their consumers use that feature. @Nesurie

I have the Note 10+, bought at Verizon store, carrier is Verizon.

So I was with a friend that has the Galaxy S10E and Advanced Messaging works flawlessly. I clicked on her settings in the Samsung Messages native app (three vertical dots), then clicked on Chat Settings just to see what those settings were. No issues getting to this on my friend's phone. She sees other people typing a message and is able to type up longer messages, too. Of course, us Note 10+ users click on the 3 vertical dots, Chat Settings, and we get an "oops..something went wrong" error message. Also, this is definitely a carrier issue, not Samsung. Verizon has to push this update to it's users. Is this an issue affecting "only" the Galaxy Note devices? Is this affecting other Galaxy Note devices, too? Why is Verizon asking to Private Message us instead of "pushing" this to our devices? It makes no sense. Why the coverup?

To Verizon Support: please do your due diligence/research about the Advanced Messaging as to why Note 10+ users are affected. Don't tell us to clear cache and factory reset our devices. It seems that's the answer to everything VZW support provides us, especially anytime I've called into VZW support. No guesswork please. Hopefully, we'll get someone from VZW support that will actually not follow the script, such as factory reset your device, and actually think outside the box. Thank you!

Do you have the latest phone update for your Samsung phone? From what I see it's working now for everyone so weird yours is not. Are you getting the error message still when you open Samsung messaging?

You cannot seriously be expecting all of your users to factory reset their phones after every update you send out! That's completely ludicrous!
