When I view past usage it only gives me the amount of texts not the specific numbers.
In my Verizon, in My Bill, you can click on Usage and navigate to Messages. You should see a breakdown for the line for which you are viewing.
Yes that is correct for the current month. However, when you go click view usage from a past bill link it only tells you total message usage over past 6 months but no way to view detailed information such as phone numbers you texted from a previous bill.
