Can’t receive calls on my IPad with Messages+ unless I’ve just used it

When I first switch to Verizon and set up my Android phone and iPad I was able to receive calls on the iPad. Here it is 2022, text incoming and outgoing work. Phone calls outgoing work. But I have not been able to receive an incoming phone call since sometime in 2019 shortly after I signed up.  
I have a 2021 version of the iPad Pro with cellular. I have signed up for Messages plus and enabled E911 with my phone number and home address.  Still does not work for incoming calls.   
The last thing I wanna do is call tech-support but that may be my only option

Didn't the agent, Celeste, ask you to send them, @vzw_customer_support  a Private Note?

...Just another VZW customer...trying to offer some assistance...

Thanks I haven’t had a problem that required I contact Verizon support. Under the old forum format you could not contact them they had to send you a message first.

Lol…I get messages when I’m not the one asking for help.  When I am, nothing.

Or if I pick up the phone, the ‘answered on another device.

Well spent at least an hour and a half with someone on social media support. The result is I have now lost the ability to make calls out. So I now no longer have any calling features on the iPad other than FaceTime which is only good between other IP phone or iPad users.    
Not what messages+ says it does.

Disappointed.

if I thought android tablets were worth a darn, I would replace the iPad with android in order to have this function.
