I have a personal cell (Galaxy S5), and work cell (iphone). Instead of carrying both, I forward my calls to my work phone and downloaded the VZW messages app to it. It works pretty well, except I'm finding I'm not getting all my messages. Checking my personal cell I see a few that didn't show up on my work cell. I uninstalled the app and reinstalled but seeing the same issue. I've missed a few texts from 2 or 3 different people. Anybody else see this?

I definitely appreciate those details as we want to make sure you get all of your messages! That's very important. Let's get to the bottom of this. Does it seem to be only these specific people who messages aren't coming in from? Do you get any of these people's messages?

There seems to be 2 numbers that I notice it happening. I will get some of there initial texts or replies, but not all.

We are noticing some issues with cross carrier recipients/senders' (Sprint, T-Mobile, ...) messages.
If this is the case for anyone on this thread, please send the following for troubleshooting:
Subject line: Messages+ Forum - SPRINT (or your carrier)
1.TO NUMBER & CARRIER
2.FROM NUMBER & CARRIER
3.A FAILED Message Screen Shot
4. TIME CODE (date and time) for failed message (no more than 12hours old)

Unfortunately, both my work and personal cell phones are on Verizon. So the issue isn't cross carrier at least not with me.

You mentioned 2 numbers that you are not getting all of the messages from. I'm referring to those 2 numbers and wondering if they are on another carrier.
One of the numbers I missed a text from is on Verizon also. But today I got a text from that person on both phones without an issue. It's not every text I miss. I check my android every few days or so just in case. It seems there's 3 numbers that in the past couple of months I've missed one or two texts from. They all go through to the Android. But on the iphone with the messages app, I've missed one or two from these 3 people. I'm waiting to hear back from the other two people but one of them is definitely on Verizon also. So it seems that's not the issue.
Also just to add. I had a text conversation with that other person on Verizon. Watching both phones, but texting on the iphone VZW messages app. During the conversation of 10 texts back and forth, one of their texts went to the droid, but not the iphone. I can't count on the app I guess. BTW...it seems that my outgoing texts always get through so far.
deesharp68, thanks for keeping us posted. We don't want any of your contacts to miss an important text message from you. Is that iPhone on our network or a different wireless network? Did you attempt to send another text message to that line to see if that issue is duplicated?

My iPhone and my android are both on Verizon. One is a personal account, and the other is the phone I got through work. But again, both on Verizon.
Two of the three people I'm not always getting texts from are also on Verizon.
I had a conversation yesterday with one of them, and yes, the problem happened again. 1 of the 5 or 6 texts I got from them showed up on my personal android, but not on my iphone with the VZW messages app.
It would appear this is not a cross carrier issue. Correct?

That information does help clue us in a bit more. Question, are you noticing that the messages that you aren't receiving are coming from the iPhone? It could be that they are going through as iMessages, therefore never hit our messaging server and you wouldn't receive them in Verizon Messages.

I will try turning off imessages and wait and see. But I know at least 2 people that I'm missing texts from are not using iphones. Yesterday I missed a text from another person and they do have an iphone though. Thank you for trying. I'll reply back if I can go a week without a missed text.
Make sure you do not have any of the numbers in Settings/Messages/Blocked
Make sure you do not have a moon symbol in the upper right corner of the and everything in iPhone Settings/Do Not Disturb is turned off.
I appreciate your help Weth. Deesharp68, we will get to the bottom of all of this. Have you done the testing that we have suggested? When you download the Verizon Messages on your iPhone did you sign up with your personal number or your work?

I'm sorry, but what testing did you suggest?
The number I signed up with is my personal cell Android. I downloaded the app to my work iPhone.
No numbers are blocked and DND is not on. As I said before, I'm getting most texts from these people, but not all. I miss one once in a while. If they were blocked I shouldn't get any texts.
Sometimes in a text conversation, one of the texts the other person sent doesn't come to the iPhone vzw app. I miss a few. The only way I know I'm missing them is checking my personal cell sometimes and seeing them. I always get all my texts to the personal cell phone.
Any texts to my work number always go through Btw.
I will keep imessages off and see if that works.
Apologies for any confusion, deesharp68. We definitely want to make sure your messages are working correctly. We would recommend turning off imessages to see if this does help. Imessages will normally only send iphone to iphone. Please keep us updated on the outcome of trying this. We look forward to hearing from you.

Well after a couple of week I thought turning off imessages was working. But yesterday I had a text conversation with someone using an Android phone and the vzw app on my iphone missed one of the texts which was pertinent to the conversation. I checked my Android phone and the missed text popped up. I also loaded the VZW app to my tablet to see if it does the same thing, and it does. The same text that went to my Android, didn't go to my iphone or ipad both running the VZW app. My android who's number is receiving the messages is also running using the VZW app.
As it stands, I'm still using the app so as not to carry two phones, but i don't put too much weight into it and check my droid phone every so often to make sure I didn't miss anything.
I refused to put Verizon message on my phone it cause to many when talking to non iPhone users. I would uninstalled Verizon messaging to see if that work. You can have conversations with non iPhone devices on your phone, the tablet is different you have to,use the vzw message app.
Turn off iMessages and see if that helps.
I haven't been receiving my texts either. I'll get them all in big blocks 5 hours later. And my sent messages are being chopped up into many tiny messages
