If I use a third party messaging app, will text messages and calls still go into the online Verizon messaging app?

I would like to know if you put a texting app on your phone such as sideline will the text messages and calls still go to the online messaging app for verizon?

The short answer is no, Adippold. When you set up your preferred text app to be something other than Verizon Messages, then your texts will not sync with the online messaging service.

HI Adippold,

The messages will go to 1) the native app and the app you set as your 2) Default app. I am not familiar with 'sideline' so try it out and see what happens.

What if the app is only used sometimes. Can you switch back to the Verizon app for some messages?
