I upgraded my text message allowance from 500 to 5,000. Is it supposed to take affect immedatly or is it normal for it to wait untill the end of my cycle? If thats true, is there any way for it to take effect immedatly
If you go through customer care or a store, they should be able to back date it for you so that it covers the messages you have already done. If you provisioned it yourself through MyVerizon, you might give customer care a call at 1-800-922-0204 or *611 from your cell phone to have them start the texting at the beginning of your current bill cycle.
You want to be careful having it take effect in the middle of a billing cycle - things get prorated based on the number of days you had each allowance and that can result in huge charges for overages. As Phan suggested, call Customer service and have them BACKDATE it to take effect at the beginning of the current cycle (especially if you are over your allowance now). When you update online it normally starts it at the beginning of the NEXT billing cycle.
