The new app for tablets is a nice idea. However, why didn't VZW allow the program to sync with the backup assistant to allow the transfer of the contacts there? Having to manually load each person I text is a pain you know where.

I added it to my phone (Droid4) and my tablet (Galaxy Tab2 7" - wifi only, not on Verizon's network); it works on the phone but closes on the tablet before I can use it - because it's a wifi only? It sounded like I could link it to the phone number and get text messages on the tab too - but maybe it has to be on the Verizon network? The tab is completely standalone, no data plan, wifi only - is that why the Integrated messaging doesn't work?

Suzy after reading through the Post again and going to the Link Tiki provided i'm concluding that's the Case it only works through the Network through the Phones number that is entered The messages are Pushed to all Devices that Way.. b33

that doesn't make sense? how can budone use it then on the ipad? and what would the point be? if you have to use the cellular network, then why wouldn't you just text like normal?

i suspect suzie is having issues because it's simply a bad app at this point. from the looks of the reviews, it's hit or miss as to whether it will work on your devices. some say it runs great, others can't even get it to load. i'm guessing it just doesn't like her tablet? 3/5 stars usually means many devices have problems with the app.

Well, OK then. :::pout::: I uninstalled it from the tab and will try it again later. The app store SAYS it works (or at least, it's compatible) with all my devices!
On another note, Jelly Bean on the Droid 4 is working...no major hiccups that I've noticed. Little things I attribute to me getting used to a new phone!

KInda late to this party, but I'm using the Verizon Messaging app as the only message app on my Droid Razr Maxx HD and my iPad (WiFi and 4G LTE). I use it on my MacBook Pro as well, but that's a little sketchy, even though it does (mostly) work.
The app works fine on the phone, although it won't send and receive via WiFi. Cellular Data only. The iPad version works fine on either WiFi or cellular data. I wish they would make a MacBook Pro app instead of making you use the website version.
It is really handy to have since I don't have to move between devices when I get messages. I hope they continue improving it.

Thanks for reviving this... after an app update, I was able to download the app to my tablet and it works without shutting down continually. The only glitch I see is, as budone mentioned, it doens't sync with my phone contacts.
The app on my phone shows the contact name when someone texts me - on the tablet all I get is the 10 digit number and I don't even see a way to make it a named contact, so I have all these numbers and I don't memorize all my contacts' numbers. Some I do recognize but others I have no clue who the text is from until I read the message or get into the conversation....

maybe they'll add a sync ability in the future? seems to me that it's only logical to allow the app to import contacts. hit and miss reviews so hopefully they'll update it quite a bit (not working on a lot of devices yet).
