Old Text/Messaging Plan

I have an old America's Choice Voice plan and have unlimited M2M text/pix/flix messaging w/50 extra MSGs for $5 as an optional feature added to my account. I want to activate a Palm Treo on my plan and will need to add the $29.99 data plan. I know how to do this online, but am wondering if my "grandfathered" texting plan for $5 will still be active on my account once I add the data plan? The messaging plan is currently listed as an optional feature on my account. Does anyone know?

Adding this phone to your account should not effect your texting package.

The only way it should effect it is if your phone requires you to change your voice calling plan, which it might because newer phones don't allow older plans to work with them.

You might want to check if you will be required to change plans to get this phone, unless you already know.

you will lose the 5$ txting plan unless the treo runs on the old platform which no longer exists. the software has changed and you will most likely lose your txting bundle. i had the same thing happen when I upgraded from my origional LG Envy to the Envy touch. I couldnt keep my old plan because the new phone wouldnt run on the old platform was what they told me. Palms however run windows if I'm not mistaken which would require the rediculous blackberry fee of $29.99. Hope this helped.
