I went to Verizon on Saturday to inquire about unknown data charges. The woman there tried to tell me I must be accidentally clicking on web applications, I handed her my phone and told her to "accidentally" click on something like she said it would in my purse. When she tried to unlock my phone, she ran into my key code lock. I told her I know exactly what applications use data and wanted to know where the $2 data charge came from.
I was informed she could not tell me where it came from and to pay it because it was only $2. I let her know this was the second time this mysterious charge came around. She said it was only $4 then.
I had her block Verizon V-Cast and the other mobile services she said would access data as a result. I tested my picture messaging, it worked fine from their store. However, now when I'm at home or on campus (which are the only areas I'm ever in) I can't picture message. When I call to ask about this, they tell me that I just need to update the towers on my phone. Which, they say, I need to do every month. Even after updating the tower list, I can't send anyone a picture message.
What am I doing wrong? I've been getting more and more frustrated with Verizon's poor customer support.
