Texts replys sent from home screen pop up not sending

Recently the Verizon Messaging+ app started to fail to send a reply when I would receive a text message on my home screen (Android). Most of my messages come from iPhone's but this has worked just fine in the past. Now I type the reply and hit send and the pop up box goes away but the message notifier still shows I have an unread message and when I open the app the message I typed the reply to and sent shows unread and no reply has been sent, so I have to type the reply again and sent it again, then it sends just fine. Anyone else seeing this problem.

Thank you for reaching out to us here, as help is our middle name. I would be lost if this were happening to me, as I rely on texting so much more than calls at times. Let’s work together to get this fixed. Is this happening only when you are sending to certain people or is it happening to everyone you send a message to? Please go to the Google Play store & search “Verizon Messages +” & check to see if there needs an update. How long ago did this trouble start? (A few days ago? A few weeks ago? A few months ago?)

It seems to have just started since the last update of the app, it happens on anyone, not just select contacts. I believe the app is at the latest update, since I uninstalled and re-installed it yesterday. Most of my contacts do have iPhones and the only ones I have seen this behavior on are the ones with iPhones, not sure if this will help track down the problem or not.

Attached are screen shots of the problem, first one is when I type the reply just before I touch "Send" then I open the app and the reply does not show up, so I need to type a reply again and send it.
