Why is the Verizon messaging app not working? Each time I try to access it, it pops up saying "message+ keeps stopping" I've tried all kinds of troubleshooting but nothing seems to work. How do I fix this?
I want to make sure that you are able to utilize your messaging application, Morgan10. What model of device do you have and what steps did you perform? I want to make sure that we avoid any steps that you have already performed.

It's working now. I had to uninstall the updates, but even that didn't
initially work. So I just stopped using it for about an hour or so, cleared
the cache, and for some reason a little while later it started working
again. I don't know what fixed the issue because I tried everything it
seems like. Thanks for responding days later, I guess.

My texts haven't sent in two weeks, all updates are updated, I have cleared caches and [removed] and still nothing.

What make/model phone/device are you having issues with? What is the version of Message+ installed?
Clearing the cache was a great place to start, Jayceemacey93. I’m sure that you are frustrated with your messages having trouble for so long. I would be too. So let’s take a closer look at what’s going on with your text messaging specifically. Can you please chare the model phone you’re using? Are you receiving messages successfully? If you’re not seeing the same error as the original poster, can you please share more details on your experience?

I am having the same issue on my LG G5. It will not open the text app and just says Message+ has stopped.
Everyone experiencing Message+ issues need to send an email describing their specific issue and environment to verizonmessages at verizonwireless.com.
Start sending emails to the Messaging Team!!! Maybe if they get enough, something will be done or communicated to the forum regarding the multiple threads relating to Message+ issues
Thanks for sharing. I tried calling and was on hold forever. Then I tried the "live" chat and no one responded there either. I gues they are swamped!! :smileymad:
Any advice on an alternate apps? Would love to get away from Verizon's non-working CrApp.

Is the built-in message app available to you? That's what I ended up using.
8.1.19 husbands stopped working within 21 hours of updating. Uninstalled update. Working now. Samsung galaxy s8. Mine hasn't stopped, updated 23 hours ago. Samsung Galaxy s8+
As recommended by @DKyakno88 in another thread, I went to the App Store and did the uninstall there, which left the default Message+ app, not any updates. It now opens and works fine. I'll probably turn off auto update until the fix is released.

My wife's LG Android cell experienced the same problem with Message+ stopping out of the blue around 8 p.m., EST, 8-1-19.
I tried everything mentioned by others, but nothing worked until I did the uninstall in the PlayStore, and now it's back to working just fine!
The wife's happy and now so am I, thank God!!!

Did you lose your messages when uninstalling?
Did she lose all of her messages?
