So updated to 6.4.4 and my messages are still stuck on Sending until I disconnect WiFi. I don't understand how they can offer unlimited text and you can't!!!! LOL But seriously this sucks and has made me switch messaging apps so I don't have to turn the WiFi on/off just to send a text. Ridiculous!!!

OMG...I'm having the same issue! The guy at the Verizon store advised that I "Force Stop" the app. When he did it in the store, it worked but when I got home, it didn't. I just turned off my WiFi after reading ur post and my messages went through. I totally agree, we shouldn't have to turn off WiFi to send a text!!!

This has been happening to me since Sunday, 2/5/17. I noticed that some contacts were "chat" and some were "sms" when I was composing messages prior to that but there didn't appear to be any other issues. On Sunday, I thought no one was texting me back until the next day I received a text from a friend asking if I had sent her any texts as her car told her she had 3 unread messages but nothing was showing up. I checked and everything was stuck in "sending" status. I could receive messages but nothing I sent went through. All of the people I had tried to text the previous day had my messages showing as "sending". I logged into my Verizon account online to try to find a way to contact them to troubleshoot the issue and see if the issue was with Verizon's service. When I logged in, all of my stuck "sending" messages magically sent. I couldn't find a way to live chat with a representative to figure out the issue and since the messages went through and I was unable to call customer service, I called it good. Of course a couple hours later after I thought I sent more texts, turns out my texts were stuck in "sending" again. I deleted and reinstalled the app and that seemed to work. (Previously I had simply tried to uninstall the updates to revert to the prior version that was working.) Now it's happening again. Day 3 of having to check if my message is stuck in "sending" and then try to find a way to force it through. I can no longer long press on a message to bring up the option menu that previously provided a way to retry sending. Turning off my wifi didn't help. I found another thread that said restarting their phone worked. That worked for me. Then I tried to text someone else right after restarting and verifying that my previous attempted text went from "sending" to "sent" and that new text seemed stuck in "sending" again and I thought, "Great, I'll have to restart my phone every time I want to text someone." Lucky for me the message status changed after about 20 seconds. This is the default message app on my phone. Having to restart your phone every time you want to send a text is ridiculous.

Mine our stuck on sedning in the Verizon messaging app as well. Then 2 different text recipients with 2 different messages both told me (while this was stuck on sending) they kept getting multiple copies of the same image from me.
It is so annoying! Verizon, please fix this! Galaxy Note 10 with all of the updates completed.

I can understand your concern that your messages are delayed in being sent and are sending multiple copies. We want to assist you in any way possible. May I ask, did this just recent begin happening? Are you having problems with calls or data as well? In addition, does this happen with the native messaging app on your android device?

On message + app the keep sending notification only happens when sharing a link in group messages. I have to reboot the phone to make it go away. It also gets rid of the shared link. Like the message never exited. Why does this happen?

messageplusfustration, that's certainly odd behavior for your app to exhibit. We can definitely look into it. What is the make and model of your device? When did the issue start? Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app? Also, to ensure our app developers are aware, please send an email to verizonmessages@verizonwireless.com to our app developers with your phone make and model, Verizon Messages+ app version (shown at the bottom of the Settings screen) and a description of the behavior exhibited. Since the app is being updated for RCS capabilities we want to ensure it's not related to the updates taking place.

This is not an app problem. I have tried on multiple apps and the same thing happens. It has been happening for over a year. It happens periodically when i send from my Samsung S9+ to a group of iphone users. It happens on multiple chains and only in that situations. It does not happen when one on one so only when I am sending mms to iphones. I have uninstalled, force stopped, cleared data, turned on and off phone, replaced phone and anything else i have read other places. This is a verizon issue. If there is anyone who could figure this out I would be forever indebted. I also am a 20 year verizon person who is considering leaving.
Also just to be clear this has nothing to do with wifi. it is the same if i am on wifi or data. It just says "sending" and no one sees it

udogg, thanks for those details. Does this issue occur when you use the standard default messaging app that comes with your phone?

I left Verizon a few months back. When I switched to TMobile, I no longer had this issue. I have returned to Verizon, and I am having the same issue again. SOOO, this is definitely a Verizon Wireless issue that they need to resolve. It's extremely frustrating.

hotwils1, We're glad that you are back in the Verizon family and messages stuck on sending isn't the Verizon norm, we're here to help. What's the make and model of your phone? Does this happen when you're not connected to Wi-Fi?

It's a Pixel 2XL. It continues if I turn off WiFi or have it on, Force Stop and nothing happens. I seriously need an ongoing billing credit if this is going to be a continuing issue, not just a one time credit. If I'm paying for a service, I expect it to be functioning at all times. Especially since Verizon is the most expensive of all providers. BTW, It's not the make and model of the phone that causes it. I'm smart enough to know that this is a Verizon issue and has been for YEARS.

my messages frequently won't send either. get the message "not delivered." always hung up at about 10% of the bar going across. even when I hit "try again." doesn't happen all the time. no pattern per se. very frustrating! I have iphone 8 plus. Now I hear a text coming in....but there's nothing there! messages are getting lost. NOT OK! Never used to have any problems texting. We get some spotty coverage in our area lately. I have had Verizon for 20 years. thinking about switching. 😞

We always want to ensure you have a perfectly working device for many years to come. Is this happening when you send an iMessage? Does this happen to all texts, Android or iPhone? Does this happen everywhere or only at home? I'm eager to hear back from you. MichelleH_VZW

I have exactly the same question. Sent a picture, but the picture got 'stuck' and never got sent. This happens several times a week. What is going on? What is the problem with the Verizon software that causes this problem? Samsung J3, inside or outside, WiFi or no WiFi -- there is no pattern. From the board, I can see that this problem has been going on for years -- why has this not yet been escalated as a higher priority issue?

We always want all of your messages to be sent, SUDS2OLD. We are here to help.
Are you using the native Messaging app that came on your phone or our Message+ app? Are you having any issues with data access or calls, when Wi-Fi is turned Off?
Is this happening with all contacts you message or just certain ones?

It's not just WiFi. It's WiFi and data.
