blocked number message?

I recently blocked a number so that the person cannot call and/or text me. Does the sender receive a message that their number has been blocked if they try and text? I searched the forum and saw that they receive a message when they call about calling restrictions, but what about if they try and text? Thank you!

Hi, How did you block the number from texting you? I just need that person to be blocked from texting me. How do I do that. Does it cost money?

How do I block unwanted text messages?
You can use either Internet Spam Controls or Call & Message Blocking available through Spam Controls (My Verizon>My Services>Verizon Safeguards>Spam Controls).

If the message is originating from an email address or web domain, visit Internet Spam Controls and enter the email or domain to be blocked. Internet Spam Controls allow you to designate and block up to 15 email addresses, vtext IDs and/or Internet Domains from sending text, picture or video messages to you.

If the message is originating from a phone number, visit Call & Message Blocking and enter the phone number of the individual who you wish to block. Call & Message Blocking allows you to designate and block up to 5 phone numbers from sending text, picture or video messages to you.
You cannot block numbers that are within your account nor can you block non-10 digit numbers such as 911, 411 or #MIN (to check minutes used).

How can I block a specific number from calling me?
Visit Call & Message Blocking and enter a phone number you wish to block. You will no longer receive calls or messages from this phone number.

Call & Message Blocking enables you to designate and block up to 5 phone numbers from calling you. You cannot block numbers that are within your account nor can you block non-10 digit numbers such as 911, 411 or #MIN (to check minutes used). Please note that you will have to subscribe to Usage Controls in order to prevent your child from calling a blocked number.

So if someone has blocked my number and I send them a text message.... will I get a delivery receipt for that message? Meaning... will the little D above the check mark show up?

hi thank you so much for the info! i have an ex-boyfriend harassing me via text/pic messages and thought i would have to change my phone number to escape it. i went online to span control/call & message blocking and put in his number. hes also a verizon customer but pre-paid. will it still work? how long does it take for the block to go into effect?

If you set this up, you should have the block be effective same-day, in most cases you'll want to 'allow' a 2 hour timeframe, though mine took effect in about 10 minutes. Even if they're prepaid, it should still block them. Keep in mind though that the block lasts for 90 days so you may need to go back later and re-set it if you do the call/message blocking for his number.

I blocked my son's exgirlfriend from calling/texting him - if he calls 411 search can he be connected to her number even though I blocked it?

If you send messages to someone who blocked you, will they recieve the messages when 90 days is up?
