message+ pictures downloading

Why are pictures getting stuck in message+?  Only shows "Downloading".  Sending or receiving MMS.  Have checked all the networking settings, 4G, data, wifi, restarted, etc etc etc... this is an issue and it happens over and over again, then one day out of the clear blue it starts working.  This is on VZW side so I want to know what is happening and will will it be fixed?

Multimedia messages (MMS) does require a data connection in order to receive/ download the MMS message that you receive.  Can you please let us know if you have had any trouble receiving/downloading a MMS message while your data is turned on?

We are committed to getting to the bottom of why pictures are getting stuck in both Verizon Messages and the native app, Boricua3205. I’d like to know the make and model of the device you are using. I’ve experience messages being stuck when my device was in a power saving mode, so please check that power saving is off too.

Samsung Galaxy S4, tried with power save off, no dice.I know it uses data but I have never had the need to keep my data turned on to receive mms.I don’t keep my data on, I have limited data and it’s too much drain on the battery.Again, I have never had to keep my data or WiFi on.

You need a 4G LTE data connection to download pictures from a text message?

Making sure that you can download those pictures in your texts are crucial. I appreciate the troubleshooting that you've done so far with us. Do you have the most updated version of the Verizon Messages + app? Please confirm this by going to the Play Store: http://vz.to/2kCCR9f Are all other functions of your service working? (Calls, data, regular texts?)

Boricua3205, these details are extremely helpful. Is your Inbox currently full, also is the Memory on your device full or getting close to it? If this is the case I would suggest deleting a some of your Messages to free up Memory as well as pictures.

Have been experiencing the same problem on my and my wife's phone for the past two months. Might go a week saying (downloading) then all of a sudden it will open.  Latest App, plenty of memory, Android 5.1.1

Picture messages are a great way to share things quickly, and I appreciate those details you've shared. What make/model are these phones? When you say these pictures will show "downloading" for up to a week, does it load all photos that you were waiting on, or only the ones that were tapped on to view? When they finally do come in, do new photos come in like normal, or do they have their own "downloading" message at that point?

Google Pixel here.i completely lose the message all together if it doesn't download. No memory problems. I deleted tons of messages and pictures to try to help, but still nothing.

S10 is in Optimized power mode. Several images stuck in Messages+

Images sent from Pixel phone, both on Verizon network. Happens frequently, but not every time. 2 images out of 5 sent came through. Can forward successfully from iPhone using Apple imessages

Did you phone get the message, but just did not download the pictures or were you never alerted to a new message at all? Is your phone typically, connected to Wi-Fi while not connected to our LTE service?

 

Does this issue happen only when you are at a certain location or does it happen everywhere?

Hi, I have a Droid Turbo and this problem started for me a few days ago. Individual pictures will download normally, but if they send two pictures together the second one just sits and spins indefinitely. My network setting was Global so I tried changing it as advised here, but that didn't work. 

I can use the desktop version of Messenger + and the pictures will appear there.

Making sure that you can receive picture messages is important. We'd be glad to help with your Droid Turbo. With you mentioning that the pictures download on the desktop version of Message+, have you checked to make sure the mobile application is up to date?

I understand what you say about data for mms, until recently I never had to flip on or off in order to receive mms messages.  Flipping it on or off was never a necessity and is a pain.

Do you receive any error messages while attempting to send or receive? Also, while you have the data turned on and run into these issues, are you able to visit a web page successfully? We want to ensure that your data connection is strong enough to download the content.

I have the same problem.my data is connected, my app is up to date and I can load anything on the internet. It started for me about 3 days ago.
