Hello,
I am installing a fire alarm system at a school in Bancroft, NE. We typically go away from modern day phone lines as they do not typically play well with fire alarm communicators. Old POTS lines worked pretty good, but the new fiber lines and their signal conversion is some times impossible to make work with fire alarm communicators. Cellular communicators typically work the best now days, but only if there is reliable signal. I have the system communicating via ethernet for now, but I am not the biggest fan of this being the sole path as there is not sufficient battery back up etc. Would a school have a little more pull than say a single customer at getting some help from Verizon to boost signal here, especially since the plan would be to use Verizon to monitor a life safety system?
Typical cell signal boosters do not work with the majority of fire alarm cell communicators as most communicate over a CAT M-1 band and the boosters do not generally repeat/boost these bands, from my understanding. I'm hoping to speak with someone that might be able to help me get better service here for this school.
Thank you
