Early upgrade

Anybody else pay a lot of money for a phone, get excited when they were told they could early upgrade in 18 months, then when they call in to see how much more time they have left before they can upgrade, they're told that they can no longer early upgrade and they owe the whole balance on the phone?

Yeah, that's me.

I went to a Verizon store March 2024 and bought an S24 Ultra. I saw on my plan page I had the ability to upgrade at 50%. All of a sudden, this month, the slider goes missing and I owe every dollar on the device. I can't trade it in. If I wanted to trade the phone, I need to pay it off.

So @Verizon, remember when I bought my phone.... and you made me sign all of that paperwork saying that I had to wait until 50% to upgrade my device, and I had 30 days to return it or else I was stuck until 50% and trade, or keep it until I decide to get a new one? Was the paperwork for fun? Asking for myself... Not a friend. Every agent I talk to seems to want a new job. They can't explain anything to me and give me the same "robot response" and they tell me "It doesn't seem that device is eligible." Really? Tell me more. I'm sure we just established that you believe it's not available from what your computer says. Do you see anything wrong when you look at my documentation I tell you to search out, and see that I've signed all of your "air tight" paperwork? Do you see what you as a carrier agreed to give me as a customer? Or are we in an era of wireless where we take advantage of the customers again? Curious. Looking forward to these comments. I've been a customer since the early 2000s on a family plan. I'm still treated like an AT&T worker in a Verizon store. At this point the contract is broken by Verizon, so why even pay the device payment anymore?
