May be time to leave Verizon after many years as a customers

After three years of paying on our phones we were excited to upgrade.

Had issues upgrading on the app so I called Verizon today. I was given three options

1. Upgrade my phone and get $1000 trade in, but I will be forced to change my plan to one that strips out benefits we have in our current plan (Disney+, ESPN, Hulu, Google Play pass, etc) and forces me to pay more to add those things back. Over all, the plan cost much more than our current plan. So we do not want to change plans.

2. I can upgrade my pixel 6 for a pixel 9 and get an $800 trade in, but I do not like the pixel and have dealt with it for three years. I do not want a other pixel, and the $800 offer only applies to a pixel 9.

3. Trade in my phone for an S24, which is what I want, and get a $70 trade in credit. Yes, only $70.

I have never been forced to change a plan that will cost me more, to upgrade my phone, and being forced to change to something just to end up paying more doesn't sit right with me.

I shopped around very briefly today and can get $800-$1000 for my phone if I take it to another provider, which I am strongly considering after the Verizon rep I spoke to said there was nothing else she could do and hung up on me.

Ridiculous
