Need Advice Before Buying a Verizon Phone

Hey everyone,
I’m planning to buy a new phone directly from Verizon, but I’m a bit confused about which option makes the most sense — buying it outright, going with monthly payments, or maybe even getting a certified pre-owned device.
I’ve heard that Verizon sometimes offers better trade-in deals or discounts depending on the time of year or which model you pick. I’m mainly looking for something reliable with great battery life and strong 5G performance — probably considering the iPhone 15 or the Galaxy S24.
So I wanted to ask:
Is it generally better to buy a phone outright or through Verizon’s device payment plan?
How good are Verizon’s trade-in values lately?
And if anyone has recently bought a phone from Verizon, how was your experience with shipping, activation, and support?
Would really appreciate any recommendations or insights before I make the purchase.
Thanks in advance!

Just wanted to bump this in case anyone has recent experience! I’m leaning a bit toward the Galaxy S24 right now, but still not sure if paying outright through Verizon is actually worth it versus their 36-month payment plan. Any thoughts from those who’ve done either recently?
