Trade in issues

I sent a trade in after hours and hours on chat with Verizon reps and they screwed up three different orders and now I finally get two phones sent off and just received that one was only worth $260 instead of the $830 I was promised by different reps and now I can’t find out why.  I even contacted one when it was being sent and it was done correctly.  That’s just the first phone and I am scared what the other three are going to get.  I have spent literally over ten hours on chats trying to trade in phones and now when I get on chat it takes forever and I am just done.  Anyone else had that problem?  I am about done.  I am still in the return window.

Similar but different issues on my end. My experience is they tell you one thing to get you locked in and then bait and switch you. My situation involved me theoretically paying off a trade in value of a phone over 50 months. But they didn't tell me it was a contracted hypothetical pay off. When I wanted to leave, I was effectively locked into a contract to pay off my phone for the value of my theoretical trade in value. Such fraud and a hoax.

I've never done a trade-in with Verizon, but unless you have it in writing that you were to get X amount for the trade-in, anything can happen.  This reminds of a purported trade-in deal I was going to get many years ago for my car.  My dad had an acquaintance with someone at a dealership who swore he could get me a fantastic trade-in offer if I would only bring the car by.  Well, I drove 3.5 hours to get there, and lo and behold, the guy suddenly was only willing to offer half of what was originally said.  Told him no and drove the 3.5 hours straight back home.
