Verizon denied credit for Trade-in phone lost by UPS

I switched from another cell phone company to Verizon, especially die to attractive $830 trade-in credit. I switched 4 lines and traded in 4 phones only 3 were received by Verizon. UPS never delivered the 4th and when I raised an investigation request, they found that box was damaged and thrown.  
When I contacted Verizon customer service, they said it happens so not to worry and my full credit will show in 5-7 business days but it didn’t show. After 2 weeks of first call, I called Verizon again and all they would is offer me partial credit because they didn’t receive the phone and I was on phone with Verizon cs for almost 2 hours . When the box with shipping labels are given to me by Verizon, how is it my responsibility?
Very unhappy with Verizon cs and I hope they see my message here and resolve it! If this happens, nobody would switch to them!
