Did anyone else receive the notification from Verizon that says “Change to media in Conversations.” “Starting on Oct 20th, you will no longer have access to search for media files directly through the Message+ Application.
Does anyone know if the media will be accessible in another location? Also is there a way to save all the media without having to save the media, file by file?
Thanks!

Dizza710 We definitely understand the need to get clarity on this change. This will only affect the ability to search for media in the app. You will not lose any of the media that you have and you are still able to send and receive media. ~Peter

Hi,
Can you please clearly define what 'media' is? Is media pictures, videos, or is media a text message? Example, if I search for 'Address' in Message+ is word search being disabled?
Can we roll back to an earlier version of M+?

You have a great concern. Media, usually refers to multimedia format. Multimedia has the following characteristics:
- Text length: Up to 5,000 characters
- Images (including animated) of up to 410KB

Please help me with best/alternative ways to accomplish the same task. I daily send texts with my business card as part of same text and not a few. I'm concerned about the time it would take. It has to be fast to get through a lot of individual texts quickly and not doing group texts.

The ability to send picture or video messages does not change. The change is to the way you find older media on the app. You are no longer able to search for it, you would have to go to the message thread and find the image or video you're looking for manually. ~Peter

What about searching to find a special occasion photo or Gif to add to a message? Thats gone too.
It was a great feature! Now I have to download to my gallery so I can attach it?

Poor decision on Verizon's part. I will start using a different messenger now. I've been unhappy with Verizon for some time now. This may be the catalyst for me and the family plan to move to another carrier.

I agree. Why did you take away the media search feature? You are supposed to retain customers not drive them away!!!

We appreciate this is a valued feature. Over time, there have been many device-based texting options since the launch of Messages+. As of 10/20/23 the search button to find GIFs, images, and videos was removed. You can still send this media, they’ll need to be inserted based on your specific device. For example, my iPhone has a GIF option on the keyboard to insert them as you type a message. None of the already shared media in Message+ will be affected, just the change to remove that search button.

But, what does the message mean? No one is answering that question!

Apparently, the customer service agents monitoring this Forum/thread don't know about this issue and aren't able to escalate it to the appropriate group for more information. Hopefully, a concerned agent will feel empowered to escalate to their manager to get a response/explanation from the appropriate group. At this time, that appropriate group would appear to be the Verizon Messaging Team which supposedly initiated the text message identifying the issue to take place tomorrow, 10/20. So far, it appears that only Samsung users have received this text message (correct me if not true). It is possible that Samsung has scheduled a software update for tomorrow that the Verizon Messaging Team identified will affect the current Message+ app on Samsung devices. We may find out tomorrow who and how we are being affected.
It might help to email the Verizon Messaging Team (VerizonMessages at VerizonWireless dot com) to see if we can get some reaction/information. That email address is for feature requests and bug reports, but it should get to the Messaging Development Team for what it might be worth.

I have a Motorola and got this message today. I don't understand what this means. When I go to a message with someone, and I click on a photo, video, screen shot or gif (that they have sent to me), the attachments they have sent to me show up on the bottom of my screen. I can then go through them, delete the ones I don't want and save the rest to my phone. Is that no longer going to happen?

When you hit the + sign when texting, do you see a ‘search’ option? That disappeared for me with the new M+ update. It doesn’t affect me adding jpgs, gifs or other local media files to the text message. That ‘search’ option available in the previous version of M+ appeared to open an internet search for jpgs, gifs or other media files for attaching to the text message. That search option has been removed with the new version.

The media change relates to searching for images in the conversation threads that is no longer supported. We can provide more answers to your own Message+ service just by replying to the Private Note.
