why is my messages plus app keep crashing as well as at times having about a 3 hour delay of texts dropping in? I have cleared cache, forced stop, restarted and uninstalled/reinstalled the app. it doesn't do it all day but off and on during the day. Any suggestions to fix this issue would be greatly appreciated., thanks Missie

My problem seems to have started after the android update. Like everyone else here, I kept getting a notification that the messages were syncing or something and now the app won't open. Have uninstalled reinstalled etc...

I received an update on my Android and it has been failing ever since. I need this fixed ASAP.

Turned phone off and on numerous times; cleared Msg+ cache several times; instigated forced stop several times; disabled and re-enabled app several times. Cannot delete and reinstall.... HELP!

Why is this not working?! Yesterday out of the blue the app would not even open. I was in the middle of a very important client conversation for business when this stopped working. I HATE the default messaging app and want the Verizon one fixed. I uninstalled, reinstalled, rebooted, checked for app updates, system updates, optimized memory, booted in safe mode, and finally cleared the cache and then it started working. This morning I cannot activate my account. So I am not receiving some messages. This needs to be fixed now or I am leaving Verizon. I have a lot of business and fire departments that relies on me and my organization and if we cannot connect I WILL find someone else that will provide me the service I need.

Mine did the same thing last night. I tried rebooting, cleared the cache, and did a force stop. Then I found this thread and decided to just wait it out.
It is working this morning.
These suggestions (from previous comments here) might help tide you over -
"Found on another thread from last year...
Go to your contacts and the text option. It works from there if you need to send anything. Will see history too but only for that person."
"I can open a pic etc and send a message through gallery and add text message but I just can't directly open the app with the icon or check incoming messages. "
And finally - This:
"I found this solution in another thread, and it worked for me. My only concern is if I lost any security updates.
On android, go to google play store, click the 3 bars in upper left go to my apps and games, click message plus or Verizon Message.
On the next screen click uninstall and it will ask if you want to uninstall all updates for the message plus app. Say yes and it will work fine.
All message threads will be intact and your message + app will be the original stock version, but it will work."

Same issue. Message + keeps crashing. Uninstalled 3 times, cleared all cashe between reinstall. Nothing works. Pls help.

Mine opens when I open messages from a missed message notification but if I try to open from the app it crashes before it will open. Just started today. No update was done to cause this!

Appears to be Android related as my iPad Message+ app is working fine. Also, my desktop app continues to work fine as well. Just my Droid Turbo 2 app fails to open, but it gives the option to SEND FEEDBACK which EVERYBODY SHOULD DO!!! It sends an email along with the system logs to verizonmessages at verizonwireless.com which is the Messaging Team.
