I have read many people including myself have been frustrated with not being able to scan the qr code when trying to use the message plus app. I have spent hours with Verizon tecnical support and the problem has still not been solved. I just installed the Mysms app from the google store on my computer , Phone and samsung tablet and it works perfectly.

We are concerned to hear that you have been unable to scan a QR Code from your device as well. We know the importance of getting this fixed, and we will be glad to help! We want to make sure that we are on the same page. What application were you previously having issues with? Also, what exactly have you tried to get it corrected? DavidR_VZW

@vzw_customer_support , @davidr_vzw Being on the 'same page' shouldn't be too difficult. There is ONLY one page in this thread and the title identifies the app in question: MESSAGE+.

I am in Colorado setting up a tablet for my parents who are quarantining in Florida. I don't have access to their phone right now. Can I do something else to verify and install message+?

I know personally how this national emergency has impacted us all, and we want to help you as much as possible, 3038836188. It is systematically impossible to setup Message+ without having the phone available. Please confirm at this link (https://www.verizon.com/support/knowledge-base-231252/). I apologize for any inconvenience this information may cause you.

I am trying to set up message+ on a tablet and it is not working. I receive the text message and attempt to scan it with my tablet. The message+ on my tablet simply won't recognize QR codes.
When pointing the camera at the QR code on my phone (I am lining things up correctly, QR code in the box) the scanner doesn't seem to think there is anything there. However, when using a QR scanner off Google play, I am able to scan the code.

Have you tried some of the things that worked for others, e.g. switch cameras if you have two or try adjusting the size of the QR code to scan?

Hello, Batie. It is strange to hear the code is not being read when using the Verizon Messages, and we will make sure to help. Have you tried to restart both devices and then have the tablet read the code? DavidR_VZW

In the same situation as Windylindy1. Just got a Samsung A7 tablet, tried to scan the QR code that was sent to my phone and tablet wouldn't scan. Called Verizon. On the phone with tech support for about an hour. Tech support doesn't have a clue about the Messages+ app. The folks that deal with the app are unreachable. After reading posts on this forum, apparently thiui s has been a problem since November, 2019. Don't understand why it has to be a QR code that has to be used. Anyone have any ideas that have worked?

jvsantoro, we never want you to have any problems, so we're here to help. You stated that you have this issue on your A7 tablet. We do not have a A7 tablet. Can you please check the device again for the exact tablet name? The reason I'm looking to get the exact tablet name is so we can do troubleshooting. Are you connected to Wi-Fi when having this trouble or our data network? Is our tablet software up to date? AliciaD_VZW

You have to scan the code with the rear facing camera. Not the selfie camera.

The rear facing camera on your phone to your tablet? The code comes in a selfie format.

The rear-facing camera on your phone to your tablet? Because the code comes in in selfie mode.

You have to scan the code sent to your phone with the rear facing camera on your tablet or other device you are trying to activate.

I have a Chrome book that only has a front camera (selfie camera). In this day and age, designing an app that requires a specific camera is something you'd expect from a beginner programmer. So Verizon, how do you get Message+ to work on a Chromebook, or any 1 camera device?
