Anyone getting error 80188308 when trying to install the upgrade from 2-3 days ago? Not sure why this is happening or what should be done...

Evening! 2-3 days ago, I received a notification on my Nokia Icon that I had an update available for download. It goes through the screen showing that the download is complete, sets up, and then restarts the phone. After the reboot, the spinning cogs come on for a split second like they are going to begin installing the update, but then it immediately stops (with no progress on progress bar) and then restarts like normal to home screen. When I look in the menu after the restart, it says this seems like a "temporary problem" and to try again later. I have tried for the past 2-3 days. It keeps saying the error is 80188308. Is anyone else getting this?...if so...does anyone know what should be done to fix it so the upgrade happens? I have never had an error like this downloading an upgrade on my windows phone. Any insights would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Check to see if you have enough disk space left. The error could mean that there isn't enough space to apply the update.

I have exactly the same issue with my HTC 8X. 7GB of free space but I read somewhere that this could be another partition issue

Yea, a family member of mine had this issue. Even though she had ~ 2.6 GB of space, I removed a bunch of her pictures and restarted the phone. After the reboot, I was able to get the hotfix installed.
Note: The hotfix did NOT install immediately after freeing up the space, but only after the reboot. This doesn't work for everyone, but it is working for many people.

I had this same issue. Plenty of space on my phone and could not get the update to install. I performed a Hard Reset and installed prior to signing in to my Microsoft account. The update installed without any issues. It is a pain having to set the phone back up, but it's probably a good thing to do occasionally anyway. A fresh install always seems to clear out the Microsoft cobwebs.

I appreciate you taking time to troubleshoot, mrxray759. May I have the current software version of your device via Settings>About>More Info>OS version? Is the device restarting on its own over the last few days?

mrxray759,
Thank you for providing this information. What is the Firmware revision number listed for your device along with the Radio software version? When you download the software does it advise you what software version the deivce is attempting to download?
