Can somebody from Verzion answer this?

I and many other customers have been waiting for a response from Verizon as to when they will offer more WP7 handsets. I spoke with one of your marketing people who was at my place of employement trying to drum up customers the other day and she had no knowledge of any future WP7 offerings. Does Verizon plan to offer anything beyond to the Trophy? Are they abandoning WP7? They seem to be dragging there feet in embracing this promising phone OS. I really don't want to leave Verizon as I have been a customer for a long time, but I can't wait much longer for some type of Roadmap. Other carriers are starting to pick up the better hardware, so there is an alternative. I do enjoy Verizon's quality coverage in my area, however other carriers are catching up on this front so there are other options. All I ask for is one of these two answers:

We have no plans to offer any further hardware in the WP7 arena.

-or-

We do plan on offering more WP7 phones around this timeframe. (Maybe mention some manufacturers.)

Like mdram4x4 said it's not going to happen. I would LOVE to hear from VZW on why they don't release their product schedule. They are doing more of a diservice by so secretive. In this day in age with the choices we have as consumers we can go to any carrier now. It shame VZW cannot be more open like their competitors....

I'm hoping with Nokia announcing the WP7 phone lineup next week that there will be some hope for VZW. Although with at&t showing off there HTC Titan it tempting to jump ship.

You should add a disclaimer: Verizon does not announce phones prior to releasing them, unless they are an iPhone or an Android.

not really, they had no intention of mentiong the nexus, but had to because samsung let it slip in a tweet

vzw was not happy

you will know 1-2 weeks prior to either launch or pre-order

nothing months in advance

the bionic was the exception because of its delays

I was at Sam's Club yesterday and was walking by the mobile phone counter when a couple of people stopped me and asked me for help (I guess I've got "Techie" written on my forehead....)

I walked them though the phones (Sprint, AT&T and Verizon), but there wasn't a single Windows 7 Phone on counter (there were about 40 other phones, including the very new DROID RAZR and Apple iPhone 4s.)

Why no Windows phones????

My hunch is the problem is on MS's side. Few companies feel shame advertising vaporwore but MS seems so behind that they don't even venture into vaporware territory.

Bottom line: if MS had a phone with LTE and other latest hw specs ready, then Verizon just needs to do their usual tests and add their cr@pware. VZW is just a dumbb pipe. If MS announces the readiness of WP, only then is the ball in VZ's court to get it out. Just a guess.

Hunches are great but you're misinformed. Verizon is notorious and brutal at dealing with manufacturers and want an upper hand. See recent verizon nexus NFC issue

Verizon knows that with about 40% of lucrative smartphone contract market they can break MS for favorable terms. This is why they were 3 months late on Trophy and aren't preparing or haven't announced an LTE WP7 device for Jan 2012. They also know they want to pimp LTE and their probably billion dollars of droid advertising to date is easier to maintain then adding an iPhone and now WP7 marketing effort.

Especially with you all locked in contracts & family plans.

VZW is the most user unfriendly business i've ever dealt with, lets not get into the anti-net-neutrality litigation they're in.

Chinch, so what's your excuse for MS not supporting LTE yet?

VZ's fault? How so?

So VZ killed NFC on the Galaxy Nexus. But guess what? It had to exist first for it to be killed. Where is the LTE / NFC / modern hw from MS to kill?

Additionally, people who root the phone can probably access it. I don't know for sure but I've used a lot of the stuff on xda and they'll get to it. The point being, MS doesn't have any/many legitimate excuses.

I'm done extending contracts with Verizon after continually seeing the lack of knowledge, stock or desire to sell a WP7 device. It's almost like they train their employees to torpedo the platform. I was shocked after having encounter after encounter. Done.

wow. it took you this long? Why would anyone extend or add to a VZW contract is beyond the imagination. Even if you WANT VZW service buy a used phone and stay off contract.

i mean VZW passed on then took 4+years to get iPhone. They showed no inclination of WP7, delaying Troph for months without communicating. Too bad some of you don't get the fact Verizon extracts maximum cash from customers with no regard to how it is done or what device you use.

That said CES is a few business weeks away where you will very likely see what is announced there from Nokia.

I stuck with the contracts for so long because I never had the extra cash or "need" for a smartphone, so a free new basic phone with a 2 year extension was a good deal for me. Now that I'm in the smartphone world, it's a whole new ballgame. Never subsidizing another phone via contract. Ever.
