I want to purchase a RAZR2 and replace my current flip (LG Revere 3). I know it has to be for Verizon but my question is, will Verizon do this?

Oh yeah, I remember that one! Yeah, you can use it in place of the Revere.

What is a RAZR2? Droid RAZR / MAXX? Was there a second flip RAZR after the 1st? Droid MAXX? If you are wanting to use a smartphone in place of a basic phone, then you must change plans to an advanced device plan. If you want to replace a basic with another basic, you can do that as long as it is a clear ESN and is Verizon-compatible.

Not a Droid and yes, there was a newer version of the original RAZR . So, I would think it would still be considered a basic phone.
Here's a link to the RAZR2 specs:

There were RAZR phones on multiple networks. You have to make sure it's a Verizon compatible RAZR. The ones from Tmoble, or AT&T won't work on Verizon. But if you find one built for the Verizon network they should activate it for you.

That particular model was on Verizon, complete with Verizon branding on the battery cover.

Yep. I'll keep that in mind if I ever decide to move from a smartphone to a basic phone.
