LG EnV Touch - Charging

I know that this phone has a lot of problems when it comes to battery life and such, but I've recently discovered a different issue with mine. I am wondering if this is just specific to my phone, or if it's a general problem with the EnV Touch.

So, here's the thing: Lately my phone doesn't seem to "recognize" that the charger is plugged in. I know that the charger itself is fine, I think there might be something wrong with the part that goes into the phone. I got an error message that the cord wasn't compatible with the phone (or something like that, I can't remember the exact phrase because it showed up and then disappeared really fast). Thing is, I am using the exact same cord that came with the phone, so any sort of compatibility issue shouldn't be an issue!

Has this happened to anyone else before??

It does sound like a connector issue on the phone it's self...  One way to prove it is to find another charger and try it.  I have seen this before, on a rare occasion, It's not making good contact so it thinks you are using an OLD Charger.  Which obviously isn't true.

Unfortunately if it is the phone you will nedd to get it looked at.

You are right it does sound more like a phone issue. Do you know if you are still under warranty? You have 1 year of warranty

I have had 4 replacements and they all have charging issues.  My env touch locks up if a text or email arrives during charging.  The screen lights up but has not info.  I have to turn it off and take out battery to get phone to work.  I have updated the phone but the issue continues.  A friends Env touch does the same.  Anyone else?

Ive had the Envy touch for about a year and a half now and its either the charger or the charge port on the phone because mine right now is starting to mess up alot like yesterday i charged it for 4 hours come back to my room to take it off and the stupid phone went off the charge apparently and almost died so i plugged it into my dads charger till it could at least survive for a while but it is a great texting phone although the display lags a bit sometimes and the stupid phone has been doing this thing where im listening to music and it decides to switch the song in the middle of the current song and a few minutes later the music shuts off and so i have to take the battery out because "File Not Supported" i had to take the battery out 7 times yesterday because the stupid thing kept shutting off the music oh and during spring break it wouldnt let me look at photos, listen to music, and every text i recieved i got at least about 2 or 3 times which took up alot of space in my inbox i mean its a good phone for about 6 months then it sucks i mean the "Blue Inspiration" menu theme messes up the phone like it makes the display change to weird colors and also with the lagging deal like sometimes the phone will turn to a white screen when i recieve somethin or white with bars or a color configuration it came up with which is a mix of purple, yellow, red, green, blue, etc... mostly every color under the sun but yes this phone sucks i agree

I have had the same problem, I've been using the same charger for as long as I've had my phone and suddenly it's not holding a charge even when it says "fully charged".

This is an old thread...but a new question!  Quite, your issue may just be an old battery.  They do wear out, and you can get an inexpensive replacement thorugh onine accessory stores.  Shop around, be sure it is an LG OEM battery, and you should be good to go.

I've had fast delivery, sometimes free shipping, and much lower cost than direct from a store.  Try daydeal, cellularaccessories, or batteries4less to start.  Get an idea of the prices out there, then do a google search for your particular phone model.  You may find an even better deal, but those are the companies I have had good luck with in the past.

Not so true, bought a new battery and the issue continued. Its more of a port issue in my opinion.

BTW the batteries are vevry cheap if you shop around

Read all the problem posts in this thread and then multiply by 2 as I have two of these awful phones in my family plan. My neighbor has these problems as well.

I should have learned my lesson when my first LG phone broke in half when I opened it. LG is apparently out of their element with cell phones. I hope their appliances are more reliable.

A recall of these phones and a permanent fix or replacement should be demanded

I agree. This is the second LG phone I've had. The first one was a slide phone and it kept having turn off issues due to it pulling apart just from carrying it and now this one. It turns off randomly sometimes completely re-booting and has the same issues with the charging that I've read over and over here. They are out of their league in the cell phone business! I'm never going to buy one again. Actually wouldn't have gotten this one, after my last experience, but it was given to me by a family member. I like the phone's features but it's not worth it for the trouble. I will probably go back to Motorola.
