If using an app try deleting the account and setting it up again in the app.

If you are using an email app open the app and delete the email account in the app and set it up again just like when you first got the phone.

We are sorry to hear that you are unable to get your messages. With regard to the email process are you using the email application or the one that was downloaded to your phone originally?

jailpolice,
We want to make sure that you don't miss any important messages. Do you have this issue with accessing emails when your device is connected to Wi-Fi or our cellular network? Let's disable Wi-Fi in Settings. Next, connect to our cellular network. Are you able to browse the internet on your device with no issues? Are you able to send and receive emails on your device?

I cannot receive or send emails on my phone. I have tried many times and many ways to set up my email again manually with no luck. Maybe I have the wrong settings if you could help with that. I used AOL mail. I have no issues with browsing the internet. I have no issues sending or receiving emails on my laptop.

Most email apps have the option to select AOL, yahoo or Gmail and automatically set it up. I have never had to manually set up AOL mail in an email app. You should be able to Google for the correct servers and stuff for AOL.

jailpolice, we know how vital it is for you to be able to have access to your email and we want to help.
Fist, you will need to uninstall the email app.
On the LG Exalt 4G. Dial ##7764726220. Enter 000000 as the service code. Go to the application section, select the desired app, and click uninstall.
Once the app is removed follow these steps.
1-Go to Menu.
2-Scroll/select 'Get it Now/Media Center'
3-Tools on the Go or Browse and Download
4-Get New Applications>Email, and then Mobile Email.
5-Highlight the option you'd like. (Make sure this is included in her plan)
6-Complete the installation and select Yes.
7-Agree to the terms and conditions.
8-Select Other for email provider.
9-Log in with your credentials and select Sign In.
Let us know if you run into any issues. We are standing by to help you.

Page 35 of the user manual found in PDF format online. Can you not go here and delete the email account and set it up again? Server settings for AOL found here under AOL mail pop and Imap settings. I use AOL mail on my smart phone app and use the Imap settings.

acraftylady ...I cannot set it up again. I have tried all settings possible (many times). The message I get says wrong info entered or it cannot connect. It appears as though AOL does not support my model phone any longer. (I could be wrong and hope I am)

If you are using the correct screen name, password and servers then that could be the issue. Never used email on a flip phone. Have you tried resetting the phone? Can't connect could mean you have the servers wrong. Are you using imap or pop3?

A while ago AOL sent email customers of theirs a notice about 3rd party apps. Think they sent this about a year ago as I got an email about it so you should have gotten that from AOL at your AOL address. That is most likely your problem. May need to contact AOL mail help to get it sorted or it just simply won't work with the 3rd party app on your phone now. Since you don't have a true smart phone to download the AOL email app not much you can do. I use the samsungs stock email app to receive my AOL mail on my note 10 plus and had no issues when AOL notified me of this so my app was fine.
