LG Extravert 2 terrible

I "upgraded" to three of these phones...they are the worse I have ever had...they drop calls...and now you can not delete text messages...my wife and daughters have had nothing but problems...what are my options to replace these with something that works? My family need phones they can rely on..just in case of emergencies....

Is anyone else having problems with this phone, and did Verizon resolve them?

I realize the importance of having a reliable phone, tbyrd200. I'm sorry that your family has been experiencing these problems. What happens when you try deleting message by going to Messages>More>Delete>Delete all? For dropped calls, please try dialing *228 and select option 2 to ensure you are updated. Please keep us posted.

My boyfriend and I have the same phone and have had it for about 3 weeks now. He just started experiencing problems with his the other night. I haven't experienced this yet but he was asking me how to delete texts messages and I showed him, but they would not delete. I tried everything including doing a factory reset which erases all of the data. I tried seeing if there was upgrade which there wasn't. I was looking for other settings, checking to see if they were unlocked which they were, I tried turning on and off his phone, replacing the battery, you name it. They would not delete for anything. I was then looking and noticed it does delete text messages, BUT only ones that are sent to him. He can't delete outgoing texts. No matter what we try, we can't get them to delete. Even if we deleted them one by one. They will not delete. Not even after a factory reset. I hope I don't start to experience this problem. But we need to figure out this problem with his phone. It's ridiculous how they wont erase. Everything else will, even his call logs, but not his sent messages.

I have been with Verizon for several years, and these are the worse phone I have ever owned. While talking on these phones, there have been so many dropped calls, that my family wants to revert back to their old phones...I am wondering why I paid the $ to upgrade to phones that do not work...and now this problem with not being able to delete, receive texts...these phones need to be replaced, with different phones that work!!!

We haven't had any problems with dropped calls, but at times, it seems like I can't understand what is being said on the other end, but it seems to only be in certain areas. But I never had a call completely drop. But about the messaging problem, my boyfriend finally took his phone to the store after I tried everything to get it working, and he was told that it was a software problem and they just gave him another phone of the same kind. I told him, I hope I don't have problems like he did because I just may throw it in the trash. I text a lot more than he does. LG from what I read from others on the internet was working on some kind of software update, but I haven't heard anything from the verizon store and I tried contacting LG myself but haven't heard an answer back yet. They need to get this straightened out.

Thanks for being such a loyal customer for many years! Are you not getting text messages at all to come into your phone or is it random? Are you able to send text messages without any kind of issues? Text messages are going out, but the ones coming in, can not be deleted, and some are blank. Calls are being dropped all of the time, if it was one phone, it wouldn't be bad, but it's all of them. Factory reset has been done on all phones.

So, what has been done to correct these problems??? NOTHING!!! I hate to go to another phone company, T-Mobile will buy out contracts, and actually give you phones that work, instead of junk phones. I explained that my wife and daughters have this phone, and need a phone that works correctly, in case of emergencies...So, if something happens to them due to not being able to call and get help, I will hold Verizon responsible because they will not recall these phones and give out ones that work (not the same make and model).

T-Mobile gives you nothing. They sell the same devices that other carriers sell.

With T-Mobile you pay full price for your phone. No contracts.

Having tried them in the past, they have terrible coverage and the customer service is just as bad as Verizon if not worse. They lie to you and deflect.

I am experiencing the same issue with my LG Extravert 2. The text messages will not be gone after I go through the steps to delete them.

I also have a blank message that is listed as a new message. I CAN NOT DELETE IT! So my lock screen always prompts me to check my new text message.

The phone is only a couple of months old but this has been an ongoing issue for about six weeks.

If the memory is full, I do recommend deleting other files besides the text messages to free up some space. Once space if available, you can attempt to delet the text messages again.

I am having the same problems here with mine. I have messages that I cannot delete, and right now my screen is saying I have unread text messages. Nothing I do will fix the issue. I've checked for a software update, and there's nothing new for me to update. The memory on the device is not full, either.

This phone is a piece of junk, no doubt about it.

These phones are getting worse. I was talking to my wife yesterday...her phone dropped the call five times in less than 5 minutes...Verizon needs to do something about these phones. If my family has an emergency and can't reach anyone...who is to blame if something happens? Terrible phones, and Verizon will not acknowledge there is anything wrong with these, at least give us phone owners another choice, of one that works.

I've also been having problems with the Extravert 2. I just ran across what appears to be a software update dated 8/20/2014, here:

LukeFF I definitely want you to be happy with your device! Have you tried pulling your battery for about 10 seconds and testing again, just to be sure the phone is not frozen? If so, I would recommend a master reset to the the phone, use these steps http://vz.to/1lBTJZa

Well, we went to the Verizon store, no help. My wife and daughters are ready to take these phones and run over them. The person at the store said we were locked into our contract with these phones, but in the same breath said we could go to ebay or Amazon and get phones to replace them...so much for these phones being locked onto my contract. Then he told us we could use "The Edge" to "upgrade" to smartphones, at over $200 more a month. I believe the next step is to involve the Attorney General, and the Better Business Bureau...this is really getting out of hand...so many complaints about this phone, and no one is doing anything.

You are locked in to your contract for 2yrs unless you pay rhe ETF to get out of the contract. Buy any Verizon basic phones you want new or used and activate them on your account. I have swapped new phones for used phones before while in my 2yr contract. Mary
