Samsung Brightside

Hi I recently purchased a Samsung Brightside and I am having a few issues with it:

1. The time on the lock screen very often does not update. For example it will say 11:21 but in the top right corner the time is 11:56 (11:56 is the correct time).

2. My texts very often do not come through correctly. This is happening from all sorts of phones - iPhones, Androids etc and is extremely annoying!! I noticed that it happens when anyone sends me a text with any sort of punctuation mark in it. I did research and found that it seems to be an apple issue and turning off Smart Punctuation helps, but I did not find this to help in my case. The texts either only come thru halfway or come thru completely gibberish.

For personal reasons I do not have and do not wish to get a smart phone, but this is getting very annoying. Please help!!

That being said, let's tackle each issue on its own. First, let's focus on the time on your device. How long has this been going on? Is your device always displaying the incorrect device on the lock screen or is it happening randomly?

Ahuvas, let's try to focus on those times. As this is random that might be a bit tricky but let's see what we can find out. Does this happen when connected to Wi-Fi? Do you ever notice the phone showing any service connection issue or displaying searching or no service? Do you recall adding any new apps, games or software before this began?
