While on a voicemail call (*86) and after I'm told to press 1 to hear messages,
how do I skip a message's envelope data -- phone , date, time -- and go directly to the message?

Use the menu to select Options (either 2 or 4) (Administrative, Personal) and then choose to turn OFF the envelope option. The menu tree varies with your location, so you will just have to listen to the various options until you get to the toggle to turn off and on the envelope info. This will turn it off and skip it on every call going forward.
If you DO want to hear it for a particular call, you can press "5" during the message playback to hear it.
