Updating my Nokia 928 to Windows 8.1

I just got a Nokia Lumia 928 and have been looking for information on updating the Windows 8.0 to 8.1. Everything I can find indicated that the update should have been available two years ago but there are no posts earlier than two years ago. When I go to Update My Phone in settings and check for updates, no update show up. I am used to 8.1 and simple things like trying to close windows with no x showing up are driving me nuts. How I can obtain this update?
