From PocketNow,
"Verizon Wireless is expected to announce a Nokia Windows Phone at the CES trade show in mid-January", says a PCMag report talking about Microsoft's CDMA and LTE plans for future Windows Phones.
Andrew Lees, head of Microsoft's Windows Phone division, said that the lack of CDMA is "no limitation of the OS, it's a timing thing between the operator and the OEMs". "I don't think there's any kind of head start gets, but I think Stephen [Elop} was more aggressive in terms of getting out there with the news", said Greg Sullivan, Windows Phone Senior Product Manager.
The technology and support is there for every OEM -- even if the current Mango platform doesn't support LTE, but other update bits do -- the same way it is there for the Finnish manufacturer. Nokia has already committed to bringing LTE to Windows Phone in America and other manufacturers will definitely follow.
Wonder if this will be the Nokia 900

Announce in Jan, release 9 months later
Just watching large companies move is painful. Too many employees just in it for the daycare.

Wonder why MS is so strict on allowing WP7 installs on Android phones.
It could grab traffic for bing/zune without having to provide support.

Because MS wants a 100% unified windows phone and "delightful" experience with uniformity (3 face buttons back/home/search, camera, volume rockers) that is not hurt or ruined by the hardware itself.
Unfortunately this relies on PATHETIC carriers like Verizon (and Sprint) to do the right thing and get devices out in a timely manner for customers.
Verizon's track record is abysmal for devices. Leave them if you value devices over "verizon" coverage.
I'd lay odds at&t has an LTE WP device before Verizon does. I'm not sure Nokia can ramp up production for CDMA/LTE quickly for Spring either and with Verizon typically wanting an exclusive run for such a device that is asking a lot from Nokia (engineering one device for one carrier worldwide!) With what seems like good Nokia sales overseas it just doesn't seem likely for 1Q2012
A VZW Windows Phone anytime before late winter would be miraculous.
