Why can't I back up my contacts?

I Have a new samsung convoy 3 , my Verizon rep put my contacts in from my old phone because the backup wouldn't work they weren't sure why. Have had phone a couple months and it has never backed up if I try manually it gives me error 305 communication error. What do I need to do?

I am so sorry to hear that you phone is not backing up. Let's investigate further. Do you receive the "305 Communication error" as soon as you open backup assistant on your phone? Try this to reset backup assistant.... http://vz.to/1zBssac

Yes I can see them on my Verizon acct and it says they backed up on dec 27 2014 but the phone shows 35 more contacts to back up and that it has never backed up
