Asurion insurance

So while at work and out on the water my cellphone got caught and went overboard while crossing from one boat to another. So I went to Verizon since I pay my insurance to them. I then found out that they have farmed this out to another company and there was nothing they would do for me. Now I start the nightmare process of dealing with Asurion. Filed a claim online around 2:00PM and even though I have a very common phone and I’m in Jacksonville, FL, a large town they wouldn’t do same day. Interesting fact that almost no one gets same day, just part of there scam. I had to leave work early to be home to receive my phone. What I got was a scuffed up phone with the screen starting to separate from the phone. After setting it up, because I had no other phone to use I came into more problems. It took about six hours for my phone to be able to make a call. The battery heath showed 90% and most apps would crash or not work. So I called and the guy was nice and sent me another phone, again not same day. So I left work early again the next day to receive my replacement phone replacement. This one either had a deep scratch or a crack and it just looked horrible... I just don’t know what they are doing or if they QA there devices. So I called again and this time I was treated like a criminal. One lady was nice but the other was absolutely horrible but I won’t go into details. They first tried to tell me I had to have the next phone go to a different address but I just moved to this town so have literally no one here I know and also Covid is going on so it’s not like I’m out meeting people. It took 15 minutes for the lady to understand that. Side not she told me “it’s our policy” At least four times then went against the policy she just told me each time, so she was just lying or trying to manipulate me.  Then they had me sign some form and without my approval she processed the order... after that she said if this phone is bad it’s on me and they won’t replace it. This is just Beyond bad and I can’t believe that’s there “policy”. So all they have to do is send three bad phones to you and then they can run off with your money. So I was a adamant that they send me a brand new phone to insure I don’t get left hung out to dry but she refused to check and told me “you get what get. Talk about service... So what did I get today in the mail, another refurbished phone that already isn’t running right and I think their motto must be packaged with hate because it looked like it was just thrown in the box, the screen place they put on to protect the screen was only covering half of the front screen on the phone. Also the phone was on when I opened the package.

So with all of that, I will say I am beyond unhappy with a Asurion but also unhappy with Verizon. I have been a customer with them since 2001 but that might be coming to a end very soon. The fact that Verizon offers the insurance and I pay Verizon for the insurance in my eyes makes it a Verizon product. If every other iPhone the sold was bad I’m almost positive Verizon would stop selling iPhone at there stores. If you google Asurion you will see countless horror stories, and I mean a lot but Verizon still offers this service... now I’m stuck with a replacement phone that is worse then my original phone, I’ve had to take 8 hours in total of my vacation time, I can’t even tell you how much money I have payed in monthly fees for insurance since I have always had it, and then I am out $259 for the deductible. I get that Asurion I guess has a monopoly on the cell phone insurance game so I would be stuck with them with most of the major carriers. I just can’t keep giving my business to a company, (Verizon) that will bill me, take my money, but not make sure that I am not getting ripped off. I am going to go check and see what AT&T or sprint is offering right after this.

Does buying an LG TV from Walmart make it a Walmart product? No.

Every major carrier uses Asurion. Even if you switched and opted into insurance, it's the same thing. Your options are to stop paying Asurion or tolerate them. If you have an iPhone, get Apple Care instead.

I love you trolls, you make the Internet fun. Reading must be hard for you so, or maybe it’s comprehending a point that you struggle with so I will break it down for you little fella. I guess you are a Walmart Type so let’s keep going with the Walmart thing. So... if I bought a “LG TV” (also didn’t know LG was still around) from Walmart and got home and it didn’t work I would take it back to Walmart. You know if you call most manufactures  if it’s still within a few months of purchase they will tell you to take it back to the store you purchased it from. Now if when I was buying this “LG TV” and the Walmart cashier asked me if I want the protection and the TV was damaged by me guess what, I call Walmart’s line or go to the Walmart page and file a claim, and Walmart is a part of that process. Even though the protection plan is backed by Allstate it’s still a Walmart product and I take my TV to Walmart to get fixed or they will replace it. Not with some bootleg refurbish TV but with a new one. Now guess what, if every other “LG TV” broke or would have issues guess what Walmart would stop selling? I’ll give you a hint, it has a L and a G in the name.

Now you are right that my only option is to not use them but Verizon washing there hands of this and not having oversight of something THEY sell is just disappointing. AppleCare is the way I will go henceforth and I am glad you brought that up. If I go to Apple and get my phone via them instead of at a Verizon store and get there protection plan and have a problem guess what I can do? Go into an Apple store and get a certified Apple replacement. Not some barely functioning phone or a scratched up phone.

Now it is also well known that Asurion has a team that goes around and trolls people and writes fake positive reviews. So the fact you cherry picked one thing from my entire story is very telling! Also it’s funny how many other Asurion post your have commented on... So how much do they pay you to trick people into thinking they are a reputable company?
