Verizon drained my data

Why did my hot spot turn on randomly and use all of my 15g data?? I was asleep, and now I'm stuck with 600k(bits)ps?? I can not even operate my business with that sort of speed.. this needs to be resolved or I'm switching to another company come January when this phone is paid off. I've been a loyal costumer to Verizon for years, and never had this sort of experience.

I think it is much more likely you simply forgot to turn your hotspot off when you were finished using it than some sort of Verizon conspiracy of turning hotspots on for unsuspecting customers. I don't see the point. What benefit would Verizon gain in speeding up the depletion of your 15 GB of hotspot data?
