Why is NFL Mobile usage draining my data plan? I received 5 texts stating I was almost out of data, then $15/gb overages...

I watched games on Sunday that said "Included, only with Verizon!" and all the data usage is still on my account. It shows I have 3 overages... Doesn't "Included" mean its a perk of my service with Verizon? I've read from other postings that it should be removed in 48hrs, but that's a horrible experience to put people through for this free 'included' service. I received about 5 texts telling me I was running out of data and being charged $15/gb. How do I know it will actually be removed?

That is correct, you don't have to pay the monthly fee to use NFL Mobile when you are with Verizon. Data would be charged according to the data plan you have.

What monthly fee? I didn't know NFL Mobile had a monthly fee. I've never had to pay for it before.

I searched ahead of time and found answers that said it won't count against my data plan or will count as FreeBee data or will be removed later. The top thread linked below is the one I read on Sunday and it has an answer from a Verizon Wireless support staffer and its current, so I assumed that was as good an answer as I was going to get.

If it does count against my data, then its a useless service. There is no way in the app to control bandwidth, so it was easily consuming 5GB/hr. Amazon's video service allows you to choose lower quality for metered networks, as low as 300MB/hr, which would be reasonable. Watching a full game at the normal speed on 4G LTE would cost me about 15-20GB, bye bye data plan for one game. So it essentially means you can use the app when you are at home and on Wifi, well I have a TV at home, so I'm not watching on my phone.

This is enough to make me drop Verizon. Other companies are adding freebee's and Verizon is taking away.
