Verizon home phone voicemail

Two issues regarding voicemail for verizon home phone: 1) Every incoming call, whether I answer it or not, triggers the voicemail indicator light and LCD icon on my cordless handset; and 2) when I delete a voicemail, the indicator light and icon will not shut off. I have to go into the handset menu and scroll through several options to turn off the light and icon.

Is this for a Verizon Wireless Home Phone Connect device, or do you actually have regular Verizon phone service in your home that comes in through a wire?
