SD Card showing damaged on LG Ally

My wife has an Ally that just today showed up with a damaged SD card icon. I can hook the phone up to the computer and see everything on the card. Problem is I can't get anything off of it.

Looking for a solution to recover the files to the computer, if that's possible.

If your MicroSD card is showing up as damaged, I'd first try DISMOUNTING and then pulling the Card for the MicroSD Slot. Most of the time this damage is created by taking the Card out of the slot without "Dismounting" it properly...  I have seen, on a couple of occasions, that the Ally will dismount and the then remount the card all by it's self...  It shouldn't do this, and if that has happened to you, maybe that is what lead to the issue you are seeing.

 

If you have a Card reader for your pc I would plug it into the reader to see if it makes any difference reading the card...  If not, Unfortunately, you'll need to get an SD Card repair utility to see if it can recover any of the files on te card.  I would only worry about the photos or any personal information you need...  All of the System Stuff will be recreated if you format the card or replace it...

 

There are several utilities on the web that are free.  If you are brave, I would try one of those apps...  They are fairly technical so if you're not comfortable digging into the techie stuff I wouldn't try it....
