How do you change the time between shutdowns. My phone goes into sleep mode every 5 minutes and I have to sign in again.

We would need to know if you are referring to screen timeout, since the wording shutdown sounds like you mean the phone is completely powering off.
Also, please tell us which model phone do you have and clarify what you mean by having the sign in again.

you've selected to require a password when the screen locks, eliminate that function!!
