I have an LG Vista G that does not seem to integrate with Google Maps very well. I get a lot of "gps signal lost" messages and the map just sits there, sometimes at my previous destination the day before. This can happen in a variety of locations and I would understand if it were only in rural areas but I can lose the link to gps in heavily populated areas with good network coverage.
