I won't waste too much time because I have spent an eternity speaking with VZW Switch department and you can search here to see how many people have gotten Bamboozled by VZW's offer to switch.
Long story short I came over from Sprint, returned a Galaxy s6+, got a s8+. Love the coverage but got [Removed] by device and contract buy out.
Got $57 out of a possible $350 for the phone. I was told it had a crack in it and unresponsive. It had a hairline fracture in it that you could only see at an angle. [Removed] that it was unresponsive. I wouldn't have been able to use Samsung Switch to move all of my data over to the new phone if it was.
But okay, I'll take the hit.
Where I really got [Removed] is paying off Sprint bill. I submitted documentation twice, was told by the website that my claim was invalid because my device wasn't enrolled in a payment plan. [Removed] Of course it's enrolled. I got the [Removed]phone from you. VZW isn't just giving s8+'s away are they?
Called Switch and they said tell VZW Customer Service to call them to verify I was enrolled which they did. Was told it would be processed the next Monday. Wasn't. Called Switch and chatted numerous times after. Same [Removed] excuse. Called last week and asked for Supervisor. Now they change the story because of a cracked screen. Website still says enrollment issue. I should not be hearing it's because of a cracked screen 5 month later. And the cracked screen was taken into account for the $57 credit down from $350.
To me there are two distinct pots of money: Device and Carrier fees.
I plan on switching to T-Mobile and STICKING VZW with my outstanding bill. They can sue me or Collection Dept. me if they want. I plan on going to court with all my documentation if so. I plan on stiffing them with the exact amount they promised to pay to switch if possible!!
