Bill Due 3 days sooner, losing free cloud storage

Verizon has become a joke making changes for no reason with no feed back or improvements to service, only less product for more money. Switch to AT&T / Directv and get free HBO for life. [remove]

The focused question is: why is Verizon Wireless removing 3 days of service by advancing our billing date in January 2018???

This is effectively increasing our rates by 10% for one month. Where is the explanation?????

Verizon Wireless isn't removing three days of service. The billing cycle isn't changing. It is only the bill due date being changed.

There is other cloud services available that you can use and don't tie you to a specific carrier.

You do get that their is difference between your billing DUE date and you billing CYCLE date? Your CYCLE date isn't changing. And even if it was Verizon would have prorated you anyway.

Why would use Verizon Cloud anyway? I don't, free or not. I use Google Drive and Windows One Drive both are free. And there are others. As far as the "free HBO" that requires having DirecTv service which isn't cheap.

The point is not if I chose to use the cloud or not, the FACTS are they are removing a service that was provided without giving or adding additional services. The cost has not decreased got less service, just your options if you choose to use them or not. This combined with Verizon's ongoing tactics of changing billing cycles to fit their needs, changing rewards programs and the joke of being charged three months in a row for one week of international travel plan, is the reason Verizon has become one of the worst providers available.

The point is you are NOT having to pay for a similar service elsewhere. Why tie your important files an such to a carrier anyway? It's like people that use the ISPs e-mail service as their main e-mail. WHY? Google Drive gives you 15 GB of space for free. And photos don't even count. You get infinite storage with them.

Like it or not Verizon has the right to add or take away perks at anytime. Also most people like myself no not go with a carrier because of rewards so i couldn't care less about them. I'm not going with an inferior carrier in my area just because they have free pizza on Tuesdays.

You have no point! Use it or not use it they are removing a service. And yes smart people do chose car dealership for services like free oil change, state inspections, etc....because that is what people expect good value and service from a supplier not less! You note that people do not go with carriers because of services or rewards? Once again an uneducated comment. Credit cards, TV, providers, stores all have used rewards for years not lure and keep customers who enjoy more perks not less!

I, too, am very frustrated with changing the bill due date and no reason why. Also I didn't get credit for carryover data that I had left from last month. It showed up for a while then suddenly disappeared

I don't see the big deal over 3 days especial when they give you MONTHS to adjust to the change. but if you need to pay on the same date as you always have you can always call in and try to see if they'll move your bill cycle up 3 days. By the way you get 5 days after the due date before i'ts considered late anyway.

Only data that you can carry over is regular data and regualr data is used before carry over data.

Bonus data- regular data-carry over data.

So without knowing any more about your situation I can say is that you'll never have 2 months in a row with carry over data. If running out of data is a regular issue perhaps a higher data plan is needed.

I now think its time for a change this is stupid just one of many things that helped me make my final decision

jpb31, it saddens us to hear that you are looking to leave over the due date change. We appreciate your loyalty and wouldn't want to see you go. If you absolutely needed the due date to stay the same day, we often have the option to change the bill cycle date to keep the bill due date the same. Would this be something that you would be interested in?

My SO has been after me to switch to Sprint for months. We pay almost double than the 5 lines for $100/mo with only 3 lines and I pay for extra cloud storage. Have been a customer for almost a quarter century but hard to find a reason to stay. :smileysad:

I'm getting tired of all the changes as well & they don't seem to really care what the customer needs are. The upgrade rules changed, the insurance rules changed, now the due date & the cloud is going to change. Which having insurance is pointless these days anyways, my phone has been cracked on both sides for over a yr, both phones on my plan are eligible for an upgrade. So this is what I get told, I can't trade my phone in cuz screens cracked, but i can pay like $200 deductible & than pay the remaining balance off on the phone if I wanna upgrade, please someone tell me why after paying a ridiculous deductible (that I've never filed a claim thru before) would I wanna upgrade being that id pretty much have a brand new phone, battery drains 10% if not more an hr w out me even using it. Even the new phones are getting higher in their monthly fees. But enough is enough w the rules the changes & charging more, Sprint plans & pricing do keep looking better & better,

Verizon doesn't control the manufacturer's price of the phones. There is more technology in them and that costs more money. Just like cars.

Verizon doesn't control the insurance company and their premiums and deductibles. The phones cost more so the cost to insure is higher.

Verizon is right, you can' trade in a device that is broken. Especially, if you are trying to do an annual upgrade like with the iPhone. Read the terms of the annual upgrade that you signed. You agreed to that condition.

Have fun on Sprint. They have the same rules an inferior network and their better and better looking pricing changes after 12 months. They don't tell you that but it IS in the fine print.

While we moved away from 2-year contracts some time ago, we’ve seen a lot of positive feedback from the device payment program. As for the insurance, please keep in mind that the insurance is carried out through a third-party company, Asurion. This is the same insurance carrier for other major carriers as well and they too can make changes as they see fit.

We’d like to focus on your device at the moment. You’ve mentioned that the phone has been damaged and you’ve been seeing the battery drains 10% or more per hour. Can you tell us when you started to notice a change in your battery life? Was this before or after the device was damaged? Please tell us the make/model of your device for further troubleshooting steps so we can better assist. Of course, with any device payment plan, you’ll always have the option to pay off your current payment agreement if you wish to upgrade a new phone; however we won’t be able to accept a trade-in for a phone that’s been damaged. Taking advantage of the insurance to file a claim is the perfect opportunity to have a properly working phone again without paying off the current balance on your device payment plan.
