I have been with Verizon through my parents since 2008. When my dad died in 2014, the plan was rolled over to my Mom (no changes).. My mother just passed 3/22/2018. I never went on my own because we not only had a good plan, I am a Volunteer EMT, (Gov discount) & they worked for the township, (also an Gov discount). I called Verizon while I had an issue with my phone and after let them know she passed And asked if I could still keep the same “PLAN & PRICE” as we recently got a better data package with just the “2” of us on there, they said yes, I would just become the account holder..
today I went to the local NJ store, same worker I am familiar with (just fixed both phones-no contracts) same thing. We called the number, said the same thing, cancelled her line, transferred me, and as I went to sign the new contract it was not the same plan. The Verizon gentleman tried to dupe me, “new customer plan” 5g $40.00 is what I am paying, that was not the plan me and my mother had, we fought and fought, Ann & I, she is the Verizon store employee... he said I cannot keep the same plan.. and that we have only been customers since 2014. What happened to Verizon‘s WORRY FREE GUARANTEE? I just lost my last parent, mother to a disabled 3 year old, in school to be a Paramedic to help people, a Volunteer for 13+ years.. and you even took my discount off the bill when it was transferred.. you Should be ashamed
