Data Overages

Each month my data keeps going into overage mode. I downloaded my data detail usage, and the spreadsheet data indicates that usage is occurring on EXACTLY 12 hour intervals (ex. 2:53AM and 2:53PM). These are times when I know we are not using our system. It happens twice a day on these 12 hour intervals. It is what is eating all my data. Has anyone else had this problem?

We're on the wireless HomeFusion system.

Also, the data sheet shows I've already used 7.5GB since Feb 5th, but the summary page says I've used 11.57GB. What's up with that?

Those are just when the data usage is reported. The usage either occurred before or after that time. I have never seen a clear answer on if it is before or after the reported time. Personally I think the usage occurred before the timestamp.

data is not always reported to the tower instantly. It can be delayed several hours. Also using home internet 7.5 GB or 11.5 GB in 8 days is nothing. Heck I used 8.5 GB just yesterday and last month I used 475 GB which is over 15 GB a DAY.

It's important your data usage is accurate and displaying the correct overall usage, TOMMYK1025. The data usage that is reported through your My Verizon account and usage details, show packets of data as they are sent to the system to report the usage. The usage sessions will not match your actually usage sessions from the device. If you are seeing a summary of usage, you may be looking at a billed out period. Thank You for your response.

However, after multiple years as a Verizon customer having NEVER exceeded my

data allowances, a disturbing pattern has developed. For the past 3 months,

I have been billed for exceeding my data limits. For years, my patterns

have not changed. It has gotten so bad that I cannot even watch ONE 2

MINUTE VIDEO without fear of exceeding my data limit.

In reviewing my DETAILED Data Usage, I continue to see a disturbing usage

pattern that is EXACTLY 12 HOURS APART. My usage reflects data being used

around 2:30AM and again 2:30PM, or at 3:00AM and then again at 3:00PM. If I

tried, I could not use my computer with downloading data at those precise

times, day after day, night after night. I can tell you, I AM NOT using my

computer or phone or tablet at 2:54M!

We have turned off our mobile devices at night. We have set them NOT TO

“Refresh in Background” for the App settings, yet the usage continues to go

up.

I expect Verizon to properly explain why this is happening, because WE are

not using this data. We live in an area where we have no really good

choices for service, but, believe me, there are choices and I will vote with

my feet if this continues.

The time stamps have been explained. If you fail to read that's on you. Verizon is not mysteriously adding data. You are using the data and you're data usage is not excessive at all. I easily exceed 8 GB a day and more.

I just realized I have the same issue with Tommyk1025. And I was looking at my unbilled usage and noticed that my wife and I were using our data around 1 am, 2 am, 4 am. However, we were sleeping at those time and not to mention we have wireless wifi at home and we were connected to our home wifi.

I don't think Verizon is calculating our data usage correctly. I also would like to get a better explanation from Verizon as well.

did you not read? data is not always recorded in real time. In fact most times it's not. The times posted are times it's reported from the tower to Verizon and that can take up to several hours. It's been explained.
